Privacy Policy for KeepBook
KeepBook (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is a private hockey record for parents. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Who this app is for
KeepBook is for adults 18 and over. The person who creates the account is a parent, guardian, or the player themself.
The app is not directed at children as users, is not in Apple’s Kids Category, and is not designed for children under 13. If you add a child’s name, photo, birth date, or game history, you are doing so as their parent or legal guardian.
If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
2. What we collect
Account
- Email address
- Display name (if your sign-in provider supplies one)
- Sign-in provider (Sign in with Apple, Google, or email and password)
- A unique user ID from Firebase Authentication
- Optional profile photo URL from your sign-in provider
You may use Sign in with Apple and hide your email. We still receive a relay address so we can operate the account.
Player records you enter
These live in your private book. We store what you type or pick:
- Player name, preferred name, optional birth date, jersey number, handedness, position, and player type (skater or goalie)
- Optional player photo (camera or photo library; cropped on the device before upload)
- Seasons, teams, age division, level, and regulation length
- Games: opponent, date, time, home/away, type, venue name, arena address, notes, scores, and results
- Events you tap in the tracker (goals, assists, shots, saves, and the rest of the pad)
- Optional shot, save, and miss details (chance type, shot type, ice location, net location, save location)
- Preferences (theme, haptics, which stats to track, default game length)
Schedule import
If you paste a webcal:// or https:// iCal URL, your device fetches that calendar. We store the imported games in your player record. On KeepBook+, we may also store the feed URL on the season so the schedule can refresh. We do not read your phone’s calendar app.
Purchases
- Whether KeepBook+ is active (annual subscription, free trial, or lifetime)
- Store product identifiers and entitlement status, via Apple, Google, and RevenueCat
We do not see your full payment card number. Apple or Google process the payment.
Diagnostics and analytics
- Crash logs, device model, OS version, and an install identifier via Firebase Crashlytics
- App interaction (screens opened, basic product events) via Firebase Analytics, associated with an app-instance identifier and, where applicable, your account
We do not use this data for advertising. We do not show Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt because we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for ads.
Map pins
If you type an arena address, we geocode that address once so the game can show a map pin. The app does not read device GPS.
3. What we do not collect
- Device GPS / precise location
- Contacts
- Your photo library, except the single image you choose as a player photo
- Health, fitness, or financial account data (other than in-app purchase status)
- Public posts, a social feed, or messages with strangers
- Advertising identifiers used to track you for ads
We do not sell personal information. We do not run ads in the app.
4. How we use it
| Purpose | Data |
|---|---|
| Create and secure your account | Email, provider, user ID |
| Store and sync your player book across your devices, including offline | Player records, photos, games, events |
| Import and refresh a league calendar you paste | iCal URL and imported games |
| Show an arena on a map | Typed address → coordinates |
| Process KeepBook+ | Purchase / entitlement status |
| Fix crashes and bugs | Crash logs, device info |
| Understand which screens are used so we can improve the app | Analytics events |
| Respond to support requests | Whatever you send us |
Legal bases (EEA/UK, if they apply): we process this data to perform the contract (running the account and the book you asked us to keep), with your consent where you optionally add a photo or birth date, and for legitimate interests in keeping the app stable and understanding feature use — without using that data for ads.
5. Where it goes
Data is stored and processed by service providers who run the app for us. They are not allowed to use it for their own advertising:
| Provider | Role |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Functions) | Account, database, photos, analytics, crashes, account deletion |
| RevenueCat | KeepBook+ entitlement status |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, and (on iOS) Maps |
| Google Sign-In, Google Play purchases, and (on Android) Maps |
Schedule feeds are fetched on your device from the URL you paste (for example a league calendar host). That host sees a request from your phone, not from our servers.
We do not sell or rent your information. We may disclose it if required by law, or to protect the app, our users, or the public.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while the account is open.
Delete your account in the app: Player → Account → delete account. That removes the Firebase Auth user and the player records we store (seasons, games, events, and photos). Players someone else owns, if sharing is ever enabled, are not deleted — only your access is removed.
Deleting the account does not cancel a KeepBook+ subscription. Cancel separately:
- iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
- Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions
A lifetime purchase does not renew. It stays on the store account you used to buy it.
Backups and crash logs may persist for a short period after deletion, then drop off in the ordinary course.
You may also archive or delete individual players and seasons in the app.
7. Your choices
- Skip a player photo and birth date. The rest of the book still works.
- Sign in with Apple and hide your email.
- Disable analytics at the system level and still use the app:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements
- Android: Google settings → Ads / usage & diagnostics controls on the device
- Request access, correction, or deletion by using the in-app controls or emailing trackystatapps@gmail.com.
- California and similar US state laws: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising. You can still email us to exercise access, deletion, or correction rights.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also object to or restrict certain processing, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children
See section 1. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children acting as users of the app. A parent or guardian may enter information about their own child as part of that child’s player record. That information is used only to operate the private book, not for advertising, profiling, or a public profile.
9. Security and international transfers
Traffic uses HTTPS/TLS. Firebase and Google Cloud encrypt data at rest. Only your signed-in account can read your player records under our security rules.
Servers may be in the United States (Firebase default region includes us-central1). If you use the app from another country, your data may be transferred to and stored in the United States under the safeguards those providers offer.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. We take reasonable measures; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes
We will update the “Last updated” date when this policy changes. Material changes will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
11. Contact
