Terms of Use for KeepBook

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a contract between you and KeepBook (“we,” “us”) for the KeepBook mobile app on iOS and Android, including KeepBook+ purchases.

Privacy Policy: https://trackyapps.com/keepbook-privacy

By creating an account or using KeepBook, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Who may use KeepBook

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

KeepBook is a private record of an individual player’s career, meant for a parent (or the player themself) to update from the stands. It is not a team roster, coach tool, league, live scoreboard, or social network.

If you enter information about a child (name, photo, birth date, games), you represent that you are that child’s parent or legal guardian and that you have the right to store that information in the app.

2. The service

KeepBook lets you:

  • Sign in with Apple, Google, or email and password
  • Keep a player book: seasons, games, live tracking, and stats for skaters and goalies
  • Use the app with no signal; taps save on the device and sync when a connection returns
  • Optionally import a league calendar from a webcal:// or https:// iCal URL you paste
  • Optionally unlock KeepBook+ (see section 6)

The free plan includes one writable player and core stats. KeepBook+ unlocks extra players, Shooting Map, Save Map, Splits, Bests & Milestones, and saved league-calendar sync. We may change free or paid features with notice, except that we will not take away a lifetime unlock you already paid for without a comparable replacement or a refund processed through Apple or Google.

Stats, maps, and insights are for your personal record. They are not official league statistics.

3. Your account

You are responsible for the account and for activity under it. Keep your sign-in details confidential.

You may delete the account in the app: Player → Account. Deletion removes the account and the player records we store. It does not cancel an auto-renewing subscription; cancel that in Apple or Google settings (section 6).

We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is used to harm the service or other people.

4. Your content

You retain whatever rights you already have in the names, photos, notes, games, and other material you enter (“Your Content”).

You grant us a limited license to host, store, sync, back up, and display Your Content solely to operate KeepBook for you (and, if we later add sharing that you turn on, for people you invite). We do not claim ownership of Your Content. We do not put it on a public feed.

You represent that you have the right to provide Your Content, including photos and a child’s information entered as a parent or guardian.

Do not upload content that is illegal, that you do not have rights to, or that includes someone else’s personal information without authority to do so.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app if you are under 18
  • Probe, scrape, or overload our systems, or attempt to access another user’s book
  • Reverse engineer the app except where the law allows
  • Use KeepBook to run a public scoreboard, spam, or a commercial scouting service we did not agree to
  • Paste a calendar URL you are not allowed to use
  • Interfere with sign-in, purchases, or account deletion

KeepBook does not read your device GPS, contacts, or photo library except the image you pick as a player photo. Location permission copy exists only so a typed arena address can be geocoded into a map pin.

6. KeepBook+ (purchases)

KeepBook is free to download. KeepBook+ is optional. Payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not by us. We never see your full payment card.

Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency. In the United States they are currently $19.99 per year (KeepBook+ annual) and $59.99 once (KeepBook+ Lifetime). Other regions are set by Apple or Google and may differ.

Annual subscription (auto-renewable)

This section is written to meet Apple Guideline 3.1.2 and Google Play subscription rules.

  • Title: KeepBook+
  • Length: one year
  • Product ID: keepbook_plus_annual
  • Introductory offer: 7-day free trial for new subscribers, where offered. Unused trial time is forfeited if you purchase KeepBook+ during the trial (including a lifetime purchase).
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase, or after the trial if a trial is offered.
  • The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the then-current yearly price.
  • Lifetime is a separate one-time purchase and does not renew.

Manage or cancel:

  • iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions
  • Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions

Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app or deleting your KeepBook account does not cancel the subscription.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their store policies, not by us (except where the law requires otherwise).

Lifetime (one-time)

KeepBook+ Lifetime (keepbook_plus_lifetime) is a one-time, non-consumable / one-time in-app purchase. It does not auto-renew. Restore it with Restore purchases on the same store account. It is tied to that Apple ID or Google account, not to a different person’s login.

Restore

Use Restore purchases if you reinstall or sign in on a new device with the same store account.

7. Third-party services

The app relies on:

  • Firebase (Google) for accounts, data, photos, analytics, and crash reporting
  • RevenueCat for KeepBook+ status
  • Apple and Google for sign-in, maps, and store billing
  • Calendar hosts for any iCal URL you paste (fetched on your device)

Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services. An outage on their side can affect KeepBook. We are not responsible for a league calendar being wrong, moved, or taken down.

8. Disclaimers

KeepBook is provided “as is” and “as available.” Hockey games, wifi, and phones are imperfect. We do not warrant that tracking, sync, stats, maps, or calendar import will be uninterrupted, complete, or error-free.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Some places do not allow certain disclaimers. In those places, the disclaimer applies only as far as the law allows.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost stats, or lost profits, arising from the app or these Terms.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for KeepBook+ in the 12 months before the claim (if any) and (b) USD $50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where that cannot be waived.

10. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. If a change is material, we will post the new Terms at this URL. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

You may stop using KeepBook and delete your account at any time. We may stop offering the app or a feature with reasonable notice where practical.

Provisions that should survive (including sections 4, 8, 9, 11, and 12) survive termination.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE / PROVINCE], [COUNTRY], excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that place have exclusive jurisdiction, except that you may have additional mandatory rights in your country of residence, and except for Apple’s or Google’s store terms which those companies set.

If a court finds a part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.

12. Apple-required terms (iOS)

If you download KeepBook from the Apple App Store:

  • These Terms are between you and KeepBook, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for KeepBook.
  • In the event of any failure of KeepBook to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the app (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to KeepBook.
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to KeepBook or your possession and use of it, including product liability, legal or regulatory failure, or consumer-protection claims.
  • If a third party claims that KeepBook or your possession and use of it infringes that party’s intellectual property, Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, or discharge of that claim.
  • You represent that you are not located in a U.S. embargoed country and are not on a U.S. government prohibited or restricted-party list.
  • You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using KeepBook (for example your wireless-data agreement).
  • Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this section against you as a third-party beneficiary.

13. Google-required terms (Android)

If you download KeepBook from Google Play, Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for KeepBook. Billing, refunds, and subscription cancellation for Play purchases follow Google Play’s policies.
